Zederhaus is the Lungau most visitors never reach: a single quiet valley running parallel to the Mur, framed by the Weißeck and Hochfeind ridges.
Why go
A summer stroll here is the definition of unhurried: flat valley paths along the Zederhausbach, the Mühlenweg trail past historic wooden mills, and — at the head of the valley — the Riedingtal nature park with its spring-fed Brunnwand waterfalls and hut lunches.
Good to know
- About 30 minutes by car from Mariapfarr via St. Michael.
- Around June 24, the village raises its Prangstangen — flower-wound poles up to eight metres tall carried through the village, one of Lungau’s UNESCO-listed traditions.
- The Riedingtal toll road opens in summer; walking in from the valley is always free.
